The race is on to save the rhino March 19

TCU will host a 5k race March 19. The race begins at 8:30 a.m. in Frog Alley (in front of Amon G. Carter Stadium) and runs (pun intended) through a designated route in Colonial Hills.

There will be approximately 250 runners and we expect the event to culminate by 10:30 a.m. We do not anticipate any parking issues as participants will park in the Frog Alley Parking Garage near the stadium.

A special thank you to the Colonial Hills Neighborhood Association for helping facilitate the neighborhood route.

Should you have any concerns, please contact TCU Police at 817-257-7777.

The TCU Rhino Initiative launched in April 2014 as part of TCU’s Global Innovator program and is led by Dr. Mike Slattery to help save the rhino and ensure its long-term survival. For additional information, visit www.rhino.tcu.edu.

Lights, camera, action!

TCU’s soccer fields are getting new lights. The new LED lights will be more efficient as they warm up and cool down faster than traditional bulbs, and there is no bleedover; the light shines where directed. The existing lights/poles are gone, and the university plans to have the six replacements installed and functional by July.
